Comodo Cloud Antivirus is a lightweight antivirus product for computers running Windows. It is an ideal security product for the gamers who want security from malware but do not want to dedicate too many of the system resources to the antivirus or anti-malware products. And if you have to use an unknown or suspicious application on your computer, then you can use the sandbox feature of Comodo Cloud Antivirus.
When you run a program inside this sandbox, it is run inside a virtual environment and it is prohibited from making any changes to the filesystem or the Windows settings. So if you run an harmful application inside the sandbox, it won’t be able to cause any damage to your system or to your precious documents.
Here is how you can use the sandbox feature in Comodo Cloud Antivirus:
- Double-click on the desktop shortcut of Comodo Cloud Antivirus. You can also double-click on the notification area icon of Comodo Cloud Antivirus.
- Click on the Run Virtual button in the Comodo Cloud Antivirus interface.
- In the window that opens, you can select one of the web browsers if you want to run it. You can also click on the Browse button, select any application (EXE file) located on your hard drive and then click on the OK button.
- The application launched inside the Sandbox will have a green frame around its window. It makes it easier to find out which program is running sandboxed. This feature (green frame) can be turned off from the Comodo Cloud Antivirus settings.
Other security products offered by Comodo such as Comodo Antivirus and Comodo Internet Security also offers the sandbox feature. Even though these other products provide much more enhanced protection to your computers, these applications might consume a little bit more of your system resources compared to Comodo Cloud Antivirus.
