FileVoyager : File Manager with Many Useful Features

FileVoyager is a third-party file manager for Windows and offers many useful features for the users. It uses the old fashioned two-panel interface that was popular back in the Windows 3.1 times. In this user interface, two panels are open on your screen which makes it easy for you to copy or move files from one folder to another. You can also compare the contents of two folders side-by-side using this kind of orthodox file manager interface.

From either of these panels, you can access your local hard drives, removable drives, archives, network drives, FTP servers and more. Both the panels show tools to carry out some basic file operations like copying, moving, deleting and recycling. It supports many of he archive formats such as ZIP, 7-Zip, GZip, RAR, TAR, ISO, WIM and many others. Some of these archives can be only extracted while for others creating archives is also supported.

The two panel user interface is also great for synchronizing two folders. For this you have to open the source and destination folders and compare the contents of the two. You can then synchronize the contents of one folder with another. Similarly, you can backup your files to a remote folder.

FileVoyager comes with VLC plugins (from VideoLAN VLC media player) which enables it to play all types of media files from within its user interface. You do not need any media player or codecs installed in order to play your music or video files.

FileVoyager is completely portable program and can be copied over to your USB pendrives so that you can carry it with you everywhere you go. Then you can use it on any Windows PC and use special features like accessing FTP/SFTP servers, playing video files, playing music files or expanding the archive files.
