In this world where obstacles await for you at each step , you have to pass the time and endure the constant agony until the end of your time. One of the weirdest things in this story, and what makes it a mature audience game, is that you have to build your own friend from the remains of other human beings. This is necessary because you are all alone in this world and without a friend of some sort, you will become paranoid.
This is akin to the good old story of Robinson Crusoe in which the lead character ends up on an uninhabited island – all alone and far away from the civilized world. To kill his loneliness, he makes Wilson out of wood – an imaginary friend that he talks to. The End is Nigh seems like a post-apocalyptic twist on the Robinson Crusoe story.
