Switching from one computer to another with a different operating system always brings some compatibility obstacles such as recognition of the storage drives formatted in a different computer. For example, if you format your USB pendrive in Windows with NTFS filesystem and want to use it in macOS then you will be able to access the contents of this drive but you won’t be able to copy or change its contents. The reason is that macOS does not allow write access to NTFS formatted drives.
One workaround to this compatibility problem is to use a third-party software iBoysoft NTFS for Mac. This software is able to mount the NTFS formatted partitions in the Read/Write mode automatically. Once mounted in the Read/Write mode, you can use these NTFS partitions just like you would in Windows or Linux. You can copy files to them or edit existing files and save them.
After the installation in your Mac, it will have a menu bar utility using which you can find all the attached storage drives containing any NTFS partitions. From this utility, you can choose to automatically mount any detected NTFS partition in the Read/Write mode.
From this same menubar utility you can access the disk management options for iBoysoft NTFS for Mac. From here you can find a list of all the available NTFS partitions or drives available. For each of these NTFS formatted drives you can choose any of the four operations – open, mount as read/write, check disk for errors and erase the disk. If the drive is already mounted, then you can un-mount it from the system as well.
iBoysoft NTFS for Mac is a very useful and productive software for all the macOS and Windows users who have been switching back and forth between the two operating systems. With its help, you will be able to save files in any NTFS drive while it is being accessed from your Mac.
