Jolix Tag Editor : Add or Edit ID3 Tags in MP3 Music Files

Jolix Tag Editor is a simple Windows application to help you manage the metadata embedded inside MP3 music files. It does not support any other music file format and can work with only ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags.

The program comes with a setup installer but contains a PUP (potentially unwanted program) inside the bundle. One way to prevent it from installing this PUP on your PC is that you download the portable version or extract the files from the setup installer using 7-Zip. We have given you the link to the portable version that does not contain the PUP.

Jolix Tag Editor has a very simple and vintage interface. You can start by adding a music folder to the application. You cannot add individual MP3 files, you are forced to add entire music folder for some reason. After adding the folder, you can select one MP3 file in the list at a time and see its tag information in the interface.

It displays both ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags for the selected MP3 files. You can manually enter this information, copy metadata between ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags, and also enter the lyrics for the music file. Unfortunately, it cannot fetch track information or the lyrics from the internet which would have made things much easier. Similarly, there is no feature to help you identify a track or music which can be found in apps like Shazam Lite.

Apart from editing and adding ID3 tags to your MP3 files, you can also rename your MP3 files based on their ID3 tags. MP3 files with names reflecting the track title, album or artist is easy to pick just by its file name. You can pick from a number of file name formats based on the ID3 information for renaming MP3 files.
