MaxLauncher is an app launcher that helps users quickly launch applications or other tasks at the press of a single key. It comes with a unique tabbed user interface from where you can pick any key that you want to convert into a hotkey for launching various applications.
In the MaxLauncher user interface you can see all the functions keys from F1 to F12 and the alphabet keys along with some of the special character keys. In order to assign any key with a command, you have to right-click on it and select Edit from the context-menu. This will open a new window from where you can enter all the information related to the command line.
In the “Edit” window, you have to type in the name, target (command line), arguments, starting folder, description, and whether you want this to be launched with the administrator privileges. For the window that is launched, you can choose whether the launched application is minimized, maximized, hidden, normal, in focus etc.
Once a key has been configured, you can simply press that key to launch the associated program. For example, we associated the key “T” with notepad.exe and as soon as we pressed the T key later, it launched Windows Notepad in the maximized state. However, such keys can cause problem if you are trying to type something.
If you are wondering what is the purpose of tabs since all the tabs contain the same set of keys, then you should know that these tabs are basically different sets of key configurations or profiles. You can switch from one profile to another just by selecting those tabs. This is useful if you want to use the same key for many different things when using different programs.
MaxLauncher is a beautifully designed app launcher with several tabs. Each tab contains many keys that can be assigned to launch various programs. It is a really productive program for people who want to save time through the use of hotkeys.
