MB Recaster is able to capture from any audio input source. It works directly with the sound card and can capture audio streams from the line-in port. It can retrieve audio from your microphone, your computer using the stereo mix output or from any auxiliary input. We can also set a folder containing audio files that are picked and streamed over the internet. It can choose these audio files sequentially or randomly. The encoding of the files is done using a number of codecs such as MP3, AAC, OPUS or OGG.

It can encode your audio stream using with the help of these as well as with Windows Media. In addition to the publicly available audio streaming services, it can also stream the audio directly from your computer provided that you have stable and fixed IP address.
When you are using SHOUTcast server, you can choose a picture to be used as the logo for your radio station. When an audio file is playing, it can read the metadata from a text file and the track cover picture. These pictures and the metadata is displayed when someone tunes in to your online radio stations through SHOUTcast server link.
