Foxit PDF Reader is one of the most comprehensive, fast and secure PDF readers available for the Windows and macOS users. It confirms to all the latest PDF standards and comes with all the add-ons that one can imagine. We can read, print, annotate, comment, digitally sign and convert PDF files using this one software. As if the features included are not enough, they have given the option to further enhance the functionality of the PDF reader through the use of plugins. For example, we can enable the plugins for cloud storage services like Google Drive, Box.net and Dropbox to store our PDF files directly on the cloud.
These days when all the applications and operating systems are offering color schemes or themes, Foxit has also added the ability to switch between the dark and light skins or themes. Here is how we can change the skins (themes) in Foxit PDF Reader:
- First of all you should download and install the latest version of Foxit PDF Reader from https://www.foxit.com/pdf-reader/.
- Launch Foxit PDF Reader and then click on the File in the menu.
- In the File menu, click on the Skins which is displayed at the very bottom of the menu.
- From the Skins list, we can now click on either of the Classic or Dark skins to select them. The classic skin is basically the light skin and is used by default by the Foxit PDF Reader.
Unfortunately, Foxit PDF Reader comes with only two skins – Classic and Dark. There is no availability of any other skins from the official Foxit website. There are no third-party sources that could provide any custom themes or skins for the PDF reader. So basically, we are limited to using these two skins only. Moreover, the skins do not change automatically based on the operating system themes.
