Offline unit conversions applications for Windows PC were very popular in the early 2000’s before the online apps for unit conversion became popular. Now-a-days, we can convert units easily using Google in seconds. But if you do not have access to the internet or do not want to launch a web browser just to convert a bunch of units, then you can use an offline freeware app called Super Unit Converter.
It is a small application for Windows that can convert between a large number of measurement units belonging to a wide variety of categories. During the installation it tries to install PUP (potentially unwanted programs) and you have to be careful not to continue the installation of the adware.
In the user interface of the Super Unit Converter, we can select the category or type of the measurement unit from the drop-down list at the top. There are many types of units available such as : angle, area, bits, bytes, density, electric current, energy, force, fuel consumption, length, mass, power, pressure, speed, temperature, time, and volume. After making a selection, we can proceed to selecting a unit such as meter, light years, feet etc.
Having made a selection of the measurement unit, we can enter the value that has to be converted from one unit to another. In the Super Unit Converter window, we would be able to see the conversion of that value from the source unit into all the other supported units. We can right-click on any of the value and choose to copy the converted data into the clipboard.
There seems to be no feature for updating the units and conversion data in this application. The application does not show the formula for conversion of one unit into another. Apart from the adware bundled with the application, Super Unit Converter is a decent measurement unit conversion app for Windows.
