AnyExif : Modify and View Photo EXIF Metadata on Mac

All the pictures taken using a modern digital camera contain some metadata which includes some very useful information embedded at the end of the picture file. There are many different types of metadata formats used for this, for example, EXIF, IPTC, and XMP.

A freeware application for Mac called AnyExif can be used to view, modify and batch edit the EXIF metadata in the image files. If you are concerned about your privacy, then we can use this tool to remove the EXIF data or portions of it too.

AnyExif is a fully offline application and it does not need any online connection to work. It does not upload your images to the cloud for processing them. It does not connect to the cloud to transfer part of the image data for EXIF modifications.

Apart from the EXIF metadata, it supports many different types of metadata formats that are commonly used by different digital camera manufacturers. It supports EXIF, EXIF GPS, TIFF, IPTC and XMP which covers all the mainstream image metadata formats.

AnyExif

Using the AnyExif is very easy. We can browse all the images through the AnyExif user interface. We can select an image and it will display the data hidden inside the EXIF metadata. We can view and also edit any of the EXIF metadata contents. If there is no metadata hidden in an image, then we can create new EXIF, GPS, IPTC and XMP metadata from scratch for that image. And if you want to remove the entire metadata then you can clear everything.

If the images contain the EXIF GPS data (which is the latitude and longitude coordinates of the place where the picture was taken), AnyExif displays the location on a map. This conveys much more information than some numbers in form of the coordinates.
