I used to plan my road trips by asking friends and family about the places I would be passing by – if there was anything worth stopping by and looking. But not everyone knows about all the places and the hearsay knowledge is not so good. Fortunately, now you can plan your road trips using an online service called On The Way. It can help you find some interesting places on your way to your destination.
To see, plan and set the itinerary of your road trip all you have to do is visit the On the Way website. You have to type in the starting and ending points of your journey and click on the green Show me what’s on the way. You would be presented with a list of possible best routes. You can also add a waypoint place, through which you want to pass during your journey. Pick one of the routes and then click on the Alright, show me stuff! as shown in the following picture :
You will be shown a list of possible attractions of your road trip in different steps. Clicking on the Ready for next Leg would take you to the next step. In each step, you would be shown different attractions for your itinerary – shopping centers, malls, museums, botanical gardens, restaurants, bars, casions and other fun places. You can click on any place you like and then click on the Add To My Trip button to add it too your trip
In the end, you would shown the itinerary of your road trip marked with your selected stops. You can print the directions of your road trip, have them emailed them to you or share them on twitter or facebook. On the Way also stores your planned trip on its server, and you can see the road plan at any later time using a link shown by it.
