Get Notified of New Gmail Messages in Firefox Toolbar

Most of the Gmail users do not use an email client like Mozilla Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook to check their email messages regularly. Nearly all of us just check the Gmail webmail site for new email messages. If we could see the new messages notifications right inside the web browser that we use everyday, then it would be much more convenient. The Gmail Notifier extension for Firefox does exactly that. It shows new email notifications for your Gmail account in the Firefox toolbar. It supports checking email messages from multiple Gmail accounts.

You can download and install the Gmail Notifier extension from the Mozilla add-on website. The extension is restartless, so you do not have to restart the browser after installing this extension. The nice thing about the Gmail Notifier extension is that it does not store your username or password for your Gmail account. It just uses the Gmail accounts that you have already signed-in to in Firefox browser. Because Gmail allows you to sign-in to multiple accounts at the same time, Gmail Notifier can check email messages from all the Gmail accounts that you have signed-in to. To use the extension, just press the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click on the Gmail icon in the toolbar. This would refresh all your Gmail accounts in the Gmail Notifier and it would display unread email messages count in the notification message.
