Microsoft has recently released the preview version of Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 users. But since this is a preview version, some of those who install it in Windows, might want to remove it once they have checked the new features that it is going to bring. If you want to remove Internet Explorer 11 from Windows 7, then you can go through the following simple steps:
Note: The instructions are valid both for the preview and the final release versions of Internet Explorer.
- Press the key combination Win + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog. In the Run dialog, type control appwiz.cpl and press Enter. This would open the Programs and Features window from Control Panel.
- In the Programs and Features window, click on View installed updates link on the left side panel. This is necessary because Internet Explorer 11 is installed in form of a component update in Windows 7.
- Select Internet Explorer 11 from the list and click on the Uninstall in the toolbar. This would initiate the uninstallation of Internet Explorer 11 from your system.
- The process involves restarting of your Windows PC at least once. In the end, it would restore the previous version of Internet Explorer that was installed on your system.
