Remove Adware from Windows with Ultra Adware Killer

We had earlier posted about Ultra Virus Killer software that can help you fix you malware infested system using a battery of many different tools. The creators of Ultra Virus Killer have now come up with Ultra Adware Killer which, as the name suggests, can remove all types of adware from your Windows PC. The software boasts of removing browser toolbars, add-ons, extensions, plugins, unsolicited search engine providers, hijacked home pages, and also potentially unwanted programs (PUPs). In addition, it can also completely reset the preferences of the two most widely used web browsers – Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

In the Ultra Adware Killer window, you can click on the Start Scan button to start the scanning of your system. Before it starts to scan, it downloads and updates the latest adware definitions from the internet. During the scan it goes through all the areas of your PC where adware could be hiding – registry, services, tasks, shortcuts, file system and various web browser settings. You can see the detected  objects listed under these various categories.

On my test system it detected eight different adware related items – one file and many web browser settings. Most of these items are pre-selected for removal, but you can go through various items and choose to keep them if you think they are not adware or you just do not want to remove them. Clicking on the Cleanup button shall start the removal of these items which may require a reboot of your PC. You are also given an option to create a System Restore point before the removal begins so that you can restore your system back in case of some mishap.

Conclusion: Ultra Adware Killer is a simple adware removal software for Windows. It may not be as aggressive as its name implies but it does detect and remove some of the adware items that could be infesting your system for a long time.
