Change Message Signatures in Outlook App for Android

When you send an email message using your Microsoft account through the Outlook app for Android, it appends a canned signature by default that reads – “Sent by Outlook for Android”. There is no harm in advertising that you are using Outlook app for Android for sending and receiving email messages. But this is a little bit of information that if fallen in wrong hands could make you a target of hack attacks. Besides you should have your name and organization instead of the canned signature at the end of every message that you send. Good news is that now you can change this signature in the Outlook app for Android.

Outlook App Signature

Here is how you can change this signature in the Outlook app:

  1. Open the Outlook app in your Android device.
  2. Touch the gray menu button on the top-right corner (it looks like three horizontal dots) and select Settings from the menu.
  3. On the settings screen, select Signature from the list of all the available configuration options.Outlook App Signature
  4. On the next screen, you can edit the signature for all the Microsoft accounts or for an individual account that you have added to the Outlook app. You can remove the default “Sent by Outlook for Android” signature and type in any signature of your choice. Then touch the small Save at the bottom of the screen to save the signature and you are all done.

Changing the signature in the Outlook app makes your sent email messages look much more personalized and sophisticated. The recipient gets an impression that this person (you) has taken time to personalize the app and is therefore a person of integrity. This is the type of underlying message you would want to send to your business partners or co-workers.

  1. Great app. Just needs option to not send original message in reply and an option to not save sent messages.
