If you have a webcam, then you can now record, save and play videos through your Chrome web browser. All it takes is a small Chrome browser extension called MediaCore Capture. Using this extension, you would be able to record videos along with the audio using your webcam. It is also able to record the desktop activity on your PC if that is what you are interested in. The audio input can be either from the microphone or from the system audio depending on what you want to record. You can even mix both audio inputs and record your voice along with the audio being played on your PC.
You begin by clicking on the MediaCore Capture extension icon in the Chrome web browser. You would be able to choose whether you wish to record the desktop or the input from the webcam. Then there are options for the video and audio that you can choose from. For example, you can choose the video resolutions from 240px to 1024px. But the real resolution and clarity of the video depends on the hardware capabilities of your webcam. Clicking on the Start Recording button will start the recording of the videos.
Once the recording job is finished (you have to manually stop the recording), you can access all the videos that you have recorded from under the Review tab. You can delete or preview the recorded videos right inside the Chrome web browser.
You can choose to download and save your recordings straight to your PC to edit in a video editing software, or share publicly on platforms like YouTube, Vimeo and other popular video sharing sites. If you are one of the users of the MediaCore Video Platform then you can also easily upload and share their recordings directly to their institution’s MediaCore library, provided that your university/school using MediaCore to store videos.
