How to Adjust Screen Brightness in Windows 10

All the people who use the desktop computers, know the simplest way to adjust the screen brightness is through the panel buttons given somewhere around the computer monitor. In some computer monitors, the buttons are on the front, in some on the side and yet in some the buttons are on the back. But when you are using a notebook computer, the adjust to the screen brightness is usually made through the special keyboard buttons. But very few people know that you can also adjust the screen brightness through a setting in the Windows (if you are using Windows 10).

Here is how you can make the screen brightness adjustments in Windows 10:

  1. Right-click anywhere on the taskbar and select Settings from the menu that shows up.Adjust Screen Brightness in Windows 10
  2. In the Settings window, click on Home and then System.
  3. Select Display from the left side list and then you will see the option to adjust the screen brightness for various monitors connected to your PC. Most people have only one display screen attached.Adjust Screen Brightness in Windows 10
  4. Use the slider bar to adjust the screen brightness and then click on the Apply button.Adjust Screen Brightness in Windows 10

If you do not see any option to change the screen brightness in your Windows 10 PC, then probably your hardware does not support this feature. As far as I know, this feature first appeared in Windows 10 version 1607 (build 14393) and so perhaps you will have to update to this version or install this version of Windows 10 in your PC in order to use this feature.

If even after display drivers update and Windows 10 update this feature does not appear than the hardware is to blame obviously. In many cases the NVidia and Intel HD graphics do not allow this option to appear in the Windows settings. But in any case, you can always use the physical adjustment buttons to control your screen’s brightness.
