Ever since Epic Games have started their own online game distribution service, they have been giving away games every month. Earlier they surprised everyone with the giveaway of a strange game – Super Meat Boy. And now they are giving away another game called – “The Jackbox Party Pack”. It is not a single player game but is meant to be enjoyed with a number of people, more along the lines of charades or who wants to be a millionaire.
“The Jackbox Party Pack” can be played in two ways – first way includes all the players in one room with a large screen TV and everyone holding their smartphones or tablets. And the second way players can be anywhere in the world in front of their computer screens but still require smartphones or tablets. Most people play through the first setup, but many livestreamers (on Twitch or YouTube) use the second setup.
The person who starts the game gives a code to all the players who can use this code to login as players. Random questions then appear on their computer screens and they have to answer using the options that appear on their smartphones. If you have never played this game, then it will appear a bit awkward in the beginning but when you will love it as you start playing it. It is a great way to do away with hours of time when at home with family or friends.
In the giveaway version, you get five different games including – You don’ know jack (trivia game with many categories), Fibbage XL (funny fibbing game), Drawful (drawing game), Word Spud (a word game), and Lie Swatter (fact checker game). Depending on the game selected, number of players can vary from 1 to 100.
