AVS Disc Creator is a versatile tool for creating, copying and burning optical media discs like CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays. In addition, it can also be used to create ISO images from CD, DVD or Blu-ray. If you have a re-writable disc then it is also able to erase its contents. It also offers cover editor for designing the covers for disc cases or jackets.
It has a user interface that reminds of the older versions of Nero Burning ROM software. From its single window interface, you can create data discs, DVD video discs, audio CDs, MP3 discs by adding files or folders to the list. You have to first select a target disc type (CD, DVD or Blu-ray of various types) and then you can start adding the files. Based on the target disc’s capacity, it will show you how many files can be added. The disc created by you can be burned to a physical blank optical media or saved as an ISO file on your computer.
If you want to clone a disc then AVS Disc Creator has be used for this. You have to use “Copy Disc” tool for this which is a two step process – first it reads the source disc and then it burns the all the read data on a blank disc using your DVD writer. For a standard video DVD (4.7 GB) it may take 10 minutes to read and almost the same time to write.
It comes with AVS Cover Designer and AVS Video Converter, both of which can be used from within its user interface. The video conversion software can be used to convert your media files before you prepare your video or audio discs. It is also able to create bootable discs if you can provide boot file (it comes with a FreeDOS boot file).
