For the previous versions of Windows, you had to install third-party apps after a fresh installation of the operating system. But starting with Windows 10, a new step has become necessary – to remove some of the pre-installed Windows 10 apps that you do not really like or need. For example, if you are going to install a third-party image viewer like IrfanView then perhaps you may want to remove the Windows Photos app.
Removing some of the pre-installed apps in Windows 10 is not easy or even impossible. There are some PowerShell scripts that can help you remove or uninstall these apps but if you want a GUI based Windows 10 Apps remover then you can try the free software Bloatbox. Using this program, you can uninstall any Windows 10 apps in no time.
It is a very small tool and even though it presents the convenience of the GUI, it uses Microsoft PowerShell internally to uninstall the Windows apps. In its user interface, you will find a big list of all the Windows 10 apps that are installed in your PC. You can select and add the apps to the right-hand side list. All the apps added to the right-handed list will be removed when you click on the Uninstall button.
Using this small application, you can even remove Microsoft’s new Edge browser from your system but it may have some serious side effects. In the case, something undesired or unexpected happens after you uninstall one or more apps, then you will have to restore the apps using system restore as there seems to be no undo function available in Bloatbox.
