Kaspersky is providing free security solution, Kaspersky Security Cloud, to all the Windows users. It can be used to protect your computers from all sorts of online threats. It protects you from malware coming from all the usual paths – through malicious websites, through files and through email messages. In addition, it also offers a free VPN service to all the users who install Kaspersky Security Cloud on their computer.
The VPN service provided with the Kaspersky Security Cloud is free but it lacks the performance and quality of the paid premium VPN. You can easily upgrade to their premium VPN and enjoy much higher data transfer speeds.
If you have already installed Kaspersky Security Cloud on your Windows PC, then you can enable the Kaspersky VPN in the following manner:
- Right-click on the Kaspesrky VPN icon in the Windows taskbar.
- From the right-click menu, choose Enable VPN.
- This will open the Kaspersky VPN screen. On this window, you have to click on the Connect button or you can skip connecting to your account by clicking on Not now button.
- Kaspersky VPN window will display the VPN connection status and the number of megabytes remaining for that day. You can use the toggle switch to enable or disable VPN from this window.
Kaspersky Security Cloud offers a free Kaspersky VPN service that uses free VPN servers and only 200 MB everyday. But this is good enough for ordinary use and hiding your privacy from certain sites. The connection itself is very fast and we did not experience any slowness when using Kaspersky VPN.
You can always upgrade to their premium server and use unlimited traffic. The premium VPN also offers a large number of VPN servers located all over the world to pick from. These premium servers are optimized for OTT platforms such as Netflix and Disney Plus.
