Winpilot : Open-Source Alternative to Microsoft Copilot

Microsoft’s Copilot is a chatbot developed by Microsoft to be used on Windows 11. With the help of Copilot, we can carry out many tasks in a very easy way. Microsoft Cortana, first introduced on Windows 10, has been replaced by AI powered Copilot. We can chat with Copilot in human languages. It is also now a part of Microsoft 365 and helps write impressive reports and arrange your data.

If you want to try out something different, then you can try your hands at Winpilot – an open-source alternative to Copilot. It is different from Copilot in many ways and does not offer all the features offered by Copilot. However, it is always fun to try out new software like Winpilot.

Winpilot comes with many powerful plugins. It comes with ClippySupreme which is a next-generation assistant and reminds of the “Mr. Clippy” from the Microsoft Office 97 days. It has a feature called CoTweaker which allows the users to toggle on or off hundreds of settings on Windows related to privacy, system, gaming and taskbar.

Its Decrapify feature helps the users find and remove any unnecessary apps that come pre-installed on Windows. It can also go in the AI mode to automatically find such apps and remove them.

The WingetUI feature (UnigetUI) can be used to download and install software on your Windows PC. You can choose some of the very popular software to install. It includes non-Microsoft web browsers, Image Viewers, PDF readers, Notepad++ and more.

For the Windows users who do not want any AI in their daily lives and are contented with using their PC in the classic way, Winpilot offers Copilotless. It helps users disable Copilot in the Microsoft Edge web browser and disable it in the Windows Taskbar.

All things considered, Winpilot can be very useful for the Windows 10 and Windows 11 users. It has not yet reached the integration level of Copilot, but it can help keep the Windows 11 perform better.
