Turn off location aware browsing in Firefox

Location aware browsing is a Firefox service that supplies your location (using your IP address) to any sites you visit. When visiting a web site that makes use of the location aware browsing, Firefox will ask you if you want to share this information. For example, a pizza site can use your location to locate nearest pizza outlet. If you do not like this service you can turn it off easily. Here is how :

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.
  3. Type geo in the Filter tab as shown below :

  4. Double click on geo.enabled to change the value to false.
  5. Now your location aware browsing is disabled.
