Earlier this month, Firefox made changes so that you can open both types of windows at the same. The private mode window shows a purple colored Firefox button on the top-left. But now you can open the private mode and regular mode side-by-side in different tabs in the same window using the Private Tab extension for Firefox. This makes it very convenient to use the private mode inside Firefox. You do not have to switch from one window to another.

Have you ever wondered about the geographical location of a website? Whether the web site that you are browsing is from Japan, Canada or USA or some other place? Typically, you can find out IP address of website and then do a geo IP location search but that is a tedious process. Thanks to the Flagfox add-on for Firefox, now you can view the flag of the country where a web site is hosted right inside the location bar in the Firefox browser.

Starting with Firefox version 20, this popular browser from Mozilla is showing a new type of download manager. The new download manager is being called download panel. But if you do not like this new download panel, then you can easily restore the older style of download manager in Firefox.

Last week, my little niece said that she could not view her picture on school website. Apparently, that website had made a GIF animation image from all the student pictures and the animation speed was so fast that you could not really look at any single picture clearly. After some searching around, I found GIF Scrubber, an extension for Google Chrome which can control the playback speed of GIF image files, pause the animation and allows you to extract the separate images from frames as well.
