Usually what happens when you type in a word or phrase in the location bar of the Mozilla Firefox browser, is that Firefox searches Google for that word or phrase. For example, if you type ivy bridge in the location bar and press Enter key, Firefox would search Google for ivy bridge. Firefox uses Google as its default search engine, but if you want to use some other search engine as your default search engine then it can be done easily.

Web sites often track your browsing behavior so that they can present with products or advertisements that better suite your web browsing pattern. If you think that this is a violation of personal privacy then you can use a new feature in the Opera browser which politely asks all the websites that you do not want to be tracked. Of course, it is upto the websites to respect this request but most of the standard sites do respect this request and stop tracking you online.

Starting with the version 12, Opera has added many new features including the theme support to the web browser. Now you can change the appearance of the Opera browser by installing a theme just like you do in other web browsers. Previously the Opera browser offered to install skins which were similar to themes. But now Opera has dropped the older skins and adopted the new lightweight themes system.

Facebook Color Changer is a browser add-on for the Google Chrome web browser using which you can change how facebook appears to you. Changes are limited only to your own browser in your computer. Facebook users two shades of the blue color – dark blue for the top menubar background and light blue for the icons shown in the menubar (like notification, messages and friend requests etc.). The Facebook Color Change extension allows you to change both of these colors.

It has been a few years since Microsoft Internet Explorer has a reset feature in its settings. You can use this feature to reset all the usual settings back to default and repair Internet Explorer. Now Mozilla Firefox has come up with a similar feature to reset Mozilla Firefox. If you are having problems with toolbars, plugins and other messed up settings in Firefox, then you can either try to fix them one by one or you can just reset Firefox and get rid of all those problems in one shot.

For past some time, attack sites were using exploits in the Adobe Flash plugin for Firefox to run an exploit on a users PC. Starting from the version 11.3, the Adobe Flash plugin is installed with a protected mode by default. This protected mode makes Flash run with lower integrity levels and thus prohibits the runtime to access sensitive resources. But if you are facing browsing problems due to this protected mode, then you can disable it easily.

The most notable feature of the new version of Firefox is that it opens a speed dial page when you try to open a new tab. This new tab page shows the thumbnails of your most accessed websites, so that you can easily open them after opening a new tab. But, for some of us, this is a headache and a privacy concern (imagine your friends coming over and opening a new tab and noticing all the sites you browse). If you do not like this new tab page feature, then you can disable it easily.

Now you can check your Facebook updates, comments, friend requests and more right in the statusbar of your Google Chrome browser using the MyStatusBar extension. No matter which website you are surfing in your Chrome browser, Facebook would be visible in the statusbar.
